Biography
Laura Ruby taught art and honors at the University of Hawaii for 34 years. Her prints and sculptures, many focused on land and community in Hawaii, have been shown internationally. From 1995 to 2000, Ruby created a series of prints based on the Nancy Drew series. Each print explores themes and images from one book. Her essay and some of the prints were featured in Rediscovering Nancy Drew (University of Iowa Press, 1995). In 2015 Laura Ruby became a Hawaii Living Treasure Honoree.
