Biography
Christina Bohannan was born in 1971 and raised in Florida. In 2000, she came to the University of Iowa to join the law faculty. She served as president of the UI faculty senate from 2015-2016, a period which saw significant controversy over the appointment of university president Bruce Harreld. After challenging an incumbent Democrat, Bohannan won the primary and the seat to represent Iowa House District 85 (parts of Iowa City) in the Iowa legislature from 2021-2023. Bohannan ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. House in Iowa’s first district in 2022.
