The booklet is formed from three poems: "Black Hat : At the End of the Bar,"3 American Tanka"/"3 Tanks," and "Egyptian Stroboscope." Though they do not appear in the table of contents, four other shorter poems are mingled throughout: "Iron Cross of the Sun," "SCrape the SKY-rapeR,"Flying Muslim," and "Judgement I."

levy's handwritten letter to Jacob Leed on verso page 3 mentions waiting for a poem by Alan Ginsberg and putting out Egyptian Stroboscope. Random Sightings (The Egyptian Stroboscope Sessions), 2000
Most of the copies of the first printing in an edition of 108 copies were confiscated by the Cleveland Police in the notorious raid of Jim Lowell's book store in 1966. The second printing by grass coin publishing in 1967 had a different cover, a modified title page & did not contain an index section. This third posthumous printing presented here is a reproduction of the original, the unique page from the second edition as well as the original manuscript pages.
