The drawings which represent a sampling of Satie's style are collaged onto a single black leather sheet that is folded into a book-like object. Isidore Isou contributes an essay written in 1968 which includes an "Introduction au Lettrisme," "La Photographie Ciselante," "La Photographie Lettriste et Hypergraphique," "La Photographie Supertemporelle," and "L'Avenir de la Photographie." The photographs mainly depict images captured by the camera from life or collage and subsequently treated with paint, ink, and/or scratched additions to the negative or the photograph itself. Francesco Conz contributes an afterward "Lettrisme: The Forgotten Avant Garde." Roland Sabatier wrote about Isou's novel "Initiation a la Haute Volupte" (Initiation inot High Sensual Pleasure) and also contributed an essay "Poetry and Music:From Lettrisme to Excordism through Aphonism and the Infinitesimal." Oeuvres Palindromes, 1993
The drawings are portaits of unidentified French writers. The palindromes, with the exception of the first one, were composed by Satie. The photographs are portraits of several Lettristes including Isou, Devaux, Sabatier and Satie.
