ROADWORK - workmen smooth down the approach to a bridge over Crooked Creek, south of Washington on the Wayland road.; CUSTOM QUILTERS - Women meet in the basement of the Riverside Trinity Methodist church to quilt. They include Ola O'Loughlin, Frances Moss, Clara Rath, Ann Rath, Edna Hartzell and Kate Ingram. Absent were Mary Lukavsky and Gladys Fiagle.; FARM BUREAU ELECTS - Chosen to head the Washington county Farm Bureau for the coming year are Lawrence L. Miksch, president; Mrs. George Dare, county women's chairman; Elmer Wenger, vice president; John Gamon, voting delegate; Bob Stout, treasurer; and Magnus Ahmling, alternate voting delegate.; FUND DRIVE — Bill Smart inspects a sign used to help publicize the annual Community Chest drive. Richard A. Stewart delivered the kick-off dinner. Smart is in charge of residential solicitations.
