Memorial Day events included a formal flag raising ceremony at the post office lawn, a band concert in Central Park and the annual parade around the square; Both Elm Grove and Woodlawn Cemeteries here were the scene of services honoring the war dead Saturday morning as the residents of Washington joined with other citizens throughout the nation in observance of Memorial Day. At Elm Grove Cemetery members of the Marine Corps League fired a rifle salute following talk by Ira Morrison there.
