General
If the tremendous assortment of items included in the John Black sale at the fair grounds here Wednesday were interesting to the hundreds of adults, they were literally fascinating to three-year-old Ross Davis who attended the sale with his mother, Mrs. E.H. Davis (the former Ruth Morrison of Washington) of Avon, Ill. Young Ross found thousands of interesting items which held peculiar interest for him, one of them being this old-fashioned victrola speaker. Ross is shown in the picture above listening into the "speaker”, just for what he was listening we can't say for sure but at least it must have seemed to him that if this was a speaker then he should be listening.
