These four students and George Chambers, local high school distributive education coordinator, will leave early Saturday morning to attend the Distributive Education Club of America (DECA) conference to be held in Des Moines for the purpose of electing state officers. Two of the four students will be running for state offices. Tom Young, center, is a candidate for state president, and Maria DaSilva, seated, state treasurer. Also attending will be Jim Bennett, left, and Sue Bruty, right.; Tom Young, Washington high school student, was elected president of the Iowa State chapter of the Distributive Education Club of America at the annual state conference held recently. Tom was one of a group of Washington DE students who attended the conference.
