These five cheerful girls are representatives of the three bands which took part in the fall massed band festival at the Crawfordsville school Tuesday evening. The five are musicians from the "bell" section of the bands, playing the bell lyre, marimba and xylophone. They are, from left, Shari Hamil of Crawfordsville, Inez Eland of Mediapolis, Ellen King and Peg Miller of Olds, and Kathy Fletcher of Crawfordsville. The three bands played a concert in the gymnasium at the Crawfordsville school under the direction of Herbert P. The three bands played a concert in the gymnasium at the Crawfordsville school under the direction of Herbert P. Jones of Washington.; - Working busily to remove the affects of winter's first blast from the windshield of her car before driving home for lunch Thursday noon was journal society editor Mrs. Lester Luckenbill, above. Luckenbill was one of the many Washington residents who felt the full force of the first real taste of winter from the storm which left the city blanketed with over three inches of snow.
