Scope and Contents
The papers of Brooke Lambert are comprised of letters written to him between 1860 and 1901. Most of the papers are signed, holograph letters. Letters are arranged alphabetically by correspondent, then chronologically. Topics range from pulpit freedom to women's suffrage and colonialism to the welfare of orphans and the poor. The correspondents include such people as William Boyd Carpenter, Edward Denison, Richard Holt Hutton, Mark Pattison, William Stubbs, Archibald Campbell Tait, and Anthony Wilson Thorold.
