Scope and Contents

The papers of William H. Ingham consist of six items. Five letters are from William to his brother Erastus and one letter to Erastus from their brother Samuel. William's letters describe life in Iowa in the 1850s. He tells of the plentiful wildlife, the new areas being surveyed, and of the business opportunities available to settlers.
