Biographical / Historical
Audio recordings of the performances of Chinese local operas, donated to the UI Libraries by UI Professor David Arkush, who made these recordings when he was conducting his extensive field studies in northern China in the 1990s. As a collection of first-hand materials on local Chinese operas and music, it is rare and valuable for researches in Chinese opera, theatre, music, anthropology, and culture in general.
