Conditions Governing Access
This collection is open for research. The transcriptions for each oral history are printed and available for request and use in the Special Collections and Archives reading room. The sound recordings are digital and can be made available as a digital reproduction upon request.
Biographical / Historical
These oral history interviews were part of the requirements for students in a journalism class entitled "The Press and Coverage of the American Civil Rights Movement" (JMC: 3400:0003), taught by Associate Professor Stephen J. Berry in the fall 2014 semester at the University of Iowa's School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He compiled them into a project entitled "Iowans in the Struggle for Civil Rights and Social Justice: An Oral History." Prof. Berry, on behalf of the class, has donated them to the University of Iowa Libraries Special Collections and Archives.
