Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Suzanne Bunkers papers date from 1964 to 2017 and measure 7.25 linear feet. The papers are arranged in six series: Biographical, Diaries, Correspondence, Scrapbooks, Professional, and Calendars.

The Biographical series (1966-2007) includes school notes, newspaper clippings, professional biographical statements, and other materials.

The Diaries series (1970-2017) includes 129 volumes of diaries, five of which are pocket-size travel journals. Bunkers wrote about academic life, current events, politics, feminism, travel, sexuality, divorce, motherhood, grief, and health.

The Correspondence series (1966 to 1998) is largely comprised of letters Bunkers exchanged with her mother and other family members. Also included is a short note, written to Bunkers from Hillary Rodham Clinton in 1993 (Box 9).

The Scrapbooks series (1962-1972) is comprised mainly of newspaper clippings assembled by Bunkers during her high school and college years.

The Professional series (1979 to 2000) includes Bunkers's resumes, research materials, and publications.
