Scope and Contents

This collection includes Journeying & the returns, a soft cover book with a dust jacket; Wild Things for the Troggs, a booklet with flip pages; Borders, a 33 rpm record in a printed folder; and, Letters Home, a collection of 15 items in brown envelope. The latter consists of 1) cold mountain, a kinetic concrete poem object, 2) answer, a concrete, permutation poem printed on a computer input papercard, 3) bp, the letters joined together cut from silver coated papercard, 4) precarious, a shaped, letter picture poem printed on brown paper that has been folded, 5) pain, rain, pain, a concrete poem printed on a card, 6) to a Loved One, a printed envelope containing a folded, printed concrete typewriter poem, 7) who owl low, a text on text concrete poem printed on a card, 8) mind trap, a reproduction of a three dimensional letter picture printed on a card, 9) [shaped bottle], a shaped, letter picture printed in white on white, glossy papercard, 10) turnips are...spurtin, a concrete, permutation printed on brown paper, 11) towards a poetry of shy sounds, a concrete fragmented text, punctuation poem printed on banking check paper, 12) drmmmmm, a concrete sound poem printed on a folded card, 13) orgy, a concrete, permutation poem printed om four colors on brown papercard, 14) SHALL NOT EVER BE, a printed typewriter poem on folded grey paper, and 15) the colophon, a printed card. A statement about his work by bp nichol is printed on the slipcase. This work was loaned to the Poesure/Pientre exhibition held in Marseilles, France in 1993. According to Asphodel Bookshop annotation Catalogue 215, 2002, far fewer copies were assembled than the 500 listed as the tirage. Clark Stewart, the signiture on the verso of the slipcase was a former owner of this book. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
