Scope and Contents

In her essay "Cosmographicae Meditationes" Stetser considers maps as revealing the culture, politics, and values of those who make and use them." The visual renditions of various maps are tied in with the language and symbols of the text on each sheet, recognizing that "language holds a nation together but it also enables us to learn about other people and countries." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
