Scope and Contents
This poem was composed for Bob Cobbing/Writers Forum Exhibition at Ceolfrith Sunderland. The writing on the recto of this poem, 'And North East,' is visible on the verso as 'IRA Want Athos.' In Greek mythology, Athos was one of the Gigantes. He threw a mountain at Zeus, who knocked it to the ground near Macedonia. The mountain became the holy peak of Mount Athos, an ancient monastic state. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
