Scope and Contents

Martin Rejtman contributes several stories related by to him by Kuitca. Jerry Saltz contributes as essay "Guillermo Kuitca's Human Touch." Marcelo E. Pacheco's essay is titled "Guillermo Kuitca: A Painter's Inventory." In it, he notes that in 1987, the artist started to paint with words on vertical canvases, using the titles of the paintings and wrods as an "illustrated code." In his text based paintings and maps, Kuitca draws the words as if they had been offset printed. In this respect, the drawings of Brian Moss whose draws in a similar manner resemble Kuitca's technique but Moss' lettering is more realistic. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
