Scope and Contents

The illustrations in this book deal with Depero's work for Campari. In the introduction by Verdicchio, he quotes Depero on advertising and art, "all art of the past centuries is marked bythe scope of advertising: exultation of war, of religion: documentation of facts, ceremonies and characters in their victories, in their symbols, within their gades of command and if splendour...even today we have the captains who face powerful enterprises for the valorization of their battles, of their campaigns for their own products and projects." This book also contains a manifesto on advertising which begins, 'the art of the future will tend stongly toward advertising." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
