Scope and Contents
Mark C. Taylor has written a philosophical and intellectual text with an experimental layout that is concerned with surfaces, postmodernism and theology. Intermingling text and image from multiple sources, he divided the book into chapters that are titled "Skinc(r)apes, Dermagraphics, De-signing, Ground Zero, Interfacing." The book includes an extensive section on tattooing. Photographic colored reproductions of fashion advertisements form a section of the book. Jack Miles introductory essay "How to Read This Book" is subtitled "A Note to the Reader from a Concerned Friend." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
