Scope and Contents

Shaw uses a mathematical system of linguistics that she calls "summatics" based upon assigning a number for each letter of the alphabet, e.g. A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. The sum of numbers can then equal word(s). The visual poems use this system to convert found numbers into words. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
