There are also numerous files relating to assorted CLAS subjects. .The materials relating to the 1986 - 1987 CLAS Self-Study, most of which are reference documents, were originally the property of Professor Robert Cruden, who served on the study committee.

Commencement Programs and Official Graduate Lists

Scope and Contents The collection consists of programs from graduation commencement ceremonies, including corresponding official graduate lists, as provided by the Office of the Registrar. They are arranged chronologically and date from 1857, the year of the first graduating class of the State University of Iowa. Commencement event planning details spanning 1928 to 1950 are also included, as are convocation programs for some years. Collection information from PastPerfect [do not publish] Note: Effective in 2005, the Official List of Graduates is no longer printed on paper by the Office of the Registrar. Instead, it is transmitted via email to the University Archivist, who transfers it to a CD as a PDF file to be stored in this collection (box 25). Scope and Contents The records of the Human Rights Committee date from 1952 to 1986 and measure about 3.0 linear feet (six boxes). They are arranged in 11 series: Minutes and Agendas, Committee Member Lists, Policies, Annual Reports, Administrative, Printed Matter, News Clippings and Releases, Student Organizations, Inter-University Relations, Correspondence, and Memoranda. Topics addressed in the collection include issues of discrimination with respect to race, creed, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity in the areas of housing, admissions, and access to other educational opportunities at the University. Series I: Minutes and Agendas (1963-1983). This series documents meeting activity of the full committee and some of its subcommittees.
