Student Disability Services Records
The records of the University of Iowa Student Disability Services are comprised of brochures, correspondence, magazine and newspaper clippings, official university assessments and reports, pamphlets, training guides, federal and state guidelines, and photographs.Two folders in this collection are particularly noteworthy in providing historical background: Initial Proposal for the S.D.S. Office and History of the S.D.S., both of which are located in Box 5.
Student Guides and Handbooks Collection
The Student Guides and Handbooks Collection consists of titles that were produced to orient incoming freshmen and transfer students, or to provide general information to the student body at large. Titles were produced by student organizations, including social fraternities and sororities.

Student Produced Directories Collection
The Student-Produced Directories Collection consists of specialized directories produced by student organizations that were intended to supplement the University-sponsored directories, or herd books. The official university directories are maintained in a separate collection in RG 01.

Student-Produced Publications and Newsletters Collection
The Student-produced Publications and Newsletters Collection consists of over 50 titles, reflecting a wide variety of campus interests: political activities, social organizations, residence halls, and humor. The earliest known titles date to the early twentieth century most were produced between 1940 and 2000.

Subject Vertical Files
The Subject Vertical Files of the University of Iowa Archives consist of records pertaining to the University's colleges, departments, offices and programs, as well as events and topics. The files may include, but are not limited to, newspaper articles, publications, pamphlets, announcements, special event programs and other documents. The collection is a convenient, wide-ranging source of topical information about University of Iowa history. Each entry listed below represents a folder pertaining to that particular topic.To access a folder in our reading room, note the title of the desired folder and the name and RG number of this collection, then contact staff in the Department of Special Collections with your request.

The Papers of Susan Vesely consist of lecture notes taken while she was an undergraduate student at the University of Iowa from 1983 to 1985. Notes are from courses taught by Sherman Paul, a professor of English. Collection consists of nine notebooks containing notes of lectures presented by Sherman Paul, concerning American literary criticism in the twentieth century.
