Twenty copies of the examples de tete were bound by Knoderer - the Sackner Archive copy is one of these copies. The binding is much larger than the booklet which is conventionally shaped. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Free Book / Knoderer, Daniel ; Garcia-Mulet., 1993

 Item
Identifier: CC-27499-28549
Scope and Contents

The theme of this book appears to be Mickey Mouse with silhouettes of his head depicted on several pages. Calligraphic markings that resemble a grid of words are overwritten in ink, and, white, red, and black paint on pages which appear to have been appropriated from a commercial publication in ink and in white, red, and black paint. The binding for this book is a Neo-Dada tour de force. The top and foredge are curved and thick gobs of black, green and red paint are spread over the black, yellow and red painted canvas that overlay the covers of the book. The centers of both covers are perforated for irregular diamond-shaped translucent plastic windows. Garcia-Mulet and Knoderer's names are written on the front cover and "Free Book" on the back cover. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
