La Maronne/Ronde Brève, 1996
The poem object consist of two silkscreened prints depicting experimental music scores wrapped several times around a stiff printed card. The folders insert within a bent open plexiglas frame; the abstract plaster sculpture is sited on the forward bend of the plexiglas frame. The plastic circular poem object with white painted handwriting is mounted on an opened folder on the back of the book object. This is the second edition of this book which is accompanied by five drawings. Sixteen copies of the drawings were editioned, six to collaborators and nine for sale, e.g., one of the latter held by the Sackner Archive. The book was first published in 1987 without the drawings. Francesco Conz contributes an afterward "Lettrisme: The Forgotten Avant Garde." Roland Sabatier wrote about Isou's novel "Initiation a la Haute Volupte" (Initiation inot High Sensual Pleasure) and also contributed an essay "Poetry and Music:From Lettrisme to Excordism through Aphonism and the Infinitesimal." In response to Loeffler's request for a critical essay for his "Book on Correspondence Art" Crozier describes what it would be like to receive work from his colleagues in the mail art network. [Letter to Clark (Coolidge?)], 1995
Andrews related a performance that he gave in an art gallery that involved the playing of two 1 1/2 hour simultaneous tapes, various books and sequences on tables, couple dozen, separate, written pieces on wall and a 12' x 7' wall and adjacent 9' x 12' floor taken up by 150 poem cards. [Letter to David W Harris], 1967
The letter reads, "d.h. consider as ms - i suppose it would be best if you returned it to me if you canot use it... i kind of like it & will eventually publish it myself if no none else will - will try to communicate later -" This letter was included with the manuscript of this untitled work called "Manuscript to david w harris."
