The cover depicts silkscreened portrait of levy and includes a handwritten inscription, "25 [cents] for levy's defense." The tipped-in silkscreen print on the page was probably made by levy. The text admonishes the people of Cleveland for the treatment of levy. According to a letter from Alan Horvath, this is the first version of the book that was subsequently published with a different cover/title page. This manuscript was submitted to Eugen Gomringer for publication in his periodical, konkrete poesie, but was not published because the series terminated prematurely. Wikipedia: Hasan al-Sabbah حسن الصباح was an Iranian missionary and founder of Nizari Ismai'li who converted a community in the late 11th century in the heart of the Alborz Mountains of northern Persia. He later seized a mountain fortress called Alamut and used it as the headquarters for a decentralized Persian insurrection against the dominant Seljuk Turks.
