Artists Anonymous: A: The end of A.R. Penck; B: An unknown song of Robert Reichstein , 1998
The first page of the A book depicts 25, nearly identical, stick figures draw in ink in the style of A.R. Penck with collaged, round, red paper stickers for the heads. The heads have facial features drawn in ink. The verso has one red paper stick collaged onto the page. Each subsequent page has one less stick figure and one additional sticker on the verso. The final page of the book has one stick figure and 25 stickers collaged onto the verso. In Book B, red and green, round paper stickers are collaged onto most pages with ink, horizontal lines to emulate music scores. On other pages, surrealistic animal-like shapes, cut from music scores, are collaged onto the pages with music-like scores. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

The Sackner copy of the British edition contains three introductory and one afterword facsimile pen drawings by John Lennon that are not included in the American edition. Ono documents a performance work, "Breath Piece," as follows: "Breathe. First performed at Wesleyan University, Conn., U.S.A., in 1966. A large card with small lettering saying "breathe" was passed three times among the audience." In the introduction to this British first edition, there is a calligraphic text that states "Hi! My name is John Lennon I'd like you to meet Yoko Ono." This is offset printed in the American edition that is also held by the Sackner Archive. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
happy fuck a llama day, 1966
The image accompanying this poem is an abstraction of a barge (on the Cayuga river flowing through Cleveland) with musical notes eminating from its foghorn. The poem refers to the fact that the river caught on fire because of heavy pollution near the time the poem was written. The title of the poem is "the foghorns of the barges" and reads, sing to me mournful - sing to me mad - sing to me mist and magic - and everyone else as the city sneaks out of the haze - we laugh and throw firecrackers at it." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
