The title is the address of the office building in New York City from which Lax observed the cityscape that inspired these poems. A vertical format to the poems layout is seen in these early poems (c.1958) which becomes more fully developed in his later sparer, more meditative poems. The title of the exhibition, "Abstrakte Poesie" does not appear in the catalogue, only in the contemporaneous exhibition announcement.
