This book reviews international small press publications of alternative art with emphasis on visual/verbal imagery from 1968-1988. The bibliography includes a listing of the Sackner Archive catalogue and is divided into 1) art/poetry movements, e.g. Fluxus, Conceptual Art, Concrete and Visual Poetry, Mail Art, Artistic Rubberstamps, Xerox Art, etc. as well as 2) listing periodicals by alphabetical order and country of publication. Perneczky also lists Art Archives holding such materials. This project comprised two looseleaf notebooks (I & II) with plastic sleeves pages. It included "188 answers, excluding latecomers, to 308 letters sent from Rosewell, New Mexico" by John Furnival. A self portrait photograph of each recipient was supposed to be placed into the windowed envelope and remailed to Furnival. However, many participants sent portraits of others clipped from printed materials. The envelopes and their contents were often highly decorated and contained personal notes to Furnival. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
