The documents are organized into categories established by T. Michael Parrish and Robert M. Willingham, Jr. in their Confederate Imprints: A Bibliography (Austin, Texas: Jenkins Publishing Co. and Ketonah, New York: Gary A. Foster, 1980). Only two items in this collection are not described in the bibliography; these are unnumbered and located at the end of the box contents list.

Parrish and Willingham provide a detailed citation for each item they describe. Consequently the items listed here are more briefly described; readers are advised to consult the bibliography for full citations. The bracketed number that begins each entry is the Parrish/Willingham number.
