Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
The Karla Miller and Jean Bott papers date from 1953 to 1981 and measure 2.5 linear feet. The papers are arranged in two series: Printed Materials and Photographs.
The Printed Materials series (1953-1981) includes feminist writings, materials from local feminist businesses, the Greasy Thumb Automechanic’s Manual for Women, and three years of the locally-produced newspaper, “Ain’t I a Woman”.
The Photographs series (1975-1979 and undated) contains snapshots from a variety of local women’s activities and provides insight into the everyday experience of the feminist and lesbian community in Iowa City.
