Scope and Contents

The hand painted, multi-colored letters are listed vertically. Each word is a different typeface. The artist was a sign painter in his early career and the fonts clearly reflect varing commercial styles. The complete sentence reads, "Unraveling art historical tradition, or arguing with political correctness, or thinking only about painting, or fusing art history and modernity, or exploring the refractory nature of sexual desire, or whatever." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
