Historically, Native Americans smoked lobelia as a treatment for asthma. In the 19th century, American physicians prescribed lobelia to cause vomiting in order remove toxins from the body. Because of this, it earned the name "puke weed." Today, lobelia is sometimes suggested to help clear mucus from the respiratory tract, including the throat, lungs, and bronchial tubes. This work by Wally Depew was designed by Linda Depew and issued in 26 lettered copies. The letter assignation was done on a post-it on the verso of the folder as well as on the colophon. The white paper assemblage was inserted into the junction for the fastening of the paper folder. Depew designated the works in this series as Artist's Photobooks.
