Z'A Zone' Alterite / Hubaut, Joel ; Hubaut A., 2001

 Item
Identifier: CC-47021-49759
Scope and Contents

For this project Joel Hubaut rearranged products of a Japanese supermarket. He wanted to produce the following project: list the products in the supermarket above which Le Parvis is located, not by activity sector but by colour. Even if supermarkets invariably adopt the same presentation of their goods because it's convenient, it is still quite possible to rethink the shelves on the basis of other criteria, and alter the way things are arrayed. Duchamp dealt with the 'declassification' by giving the object a new environment. Here it's the objects which, themselves, make up this new environment." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
