Work done in homage to Asa Beneviste, the American expatriate poet/publisher, who died in Yorkshire at age 64 of diabetes. The signs derive from original Welsh alphabets as Wales is closest to both Beneviste and Hirschman. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
Yod, 1966
This book is an example of the Kabbalistic period of Hirschman's work in which the poet combined Hebrew letters within his poetry. Yod is the letter Y and also means hand in Hebrew.
