A drawing of four windows in a partially drawn bolted door. The graphite pencil is worked onto the surface of the paper so that the glass panes have a silvery reflection. The complete text printed at the top of the drawing reads, " Although the Meteorological Office has not yet released the forecast for September, it is not expected to be a cheerful one. Bright Patches / Furnival, John., 1994
This is one of a series of 11 prints done in collaboration with Jonathan Williams that deal with the weather in Cumbria. This depicts a gloomy landscape from a window vantage showing grazing sheep. There are bright patches of red on backs of the Ewes indicating their owner as well as blue color on their backs. The ram's feet is placed into blue dye before they are put into the field with the Ewes so that farmers can tell when Ewes were serviced. Egg Series: Forty-nine Ways of Hatching a Cosmic Egg, 1975
Consists of drawings of the same egg shell in a grid seven by seven. Each egg is formed with "hatched" lines done in a different way, e.g., horizontal, vertical, horizontal slanted, combination of slanted horizontal over slanted vertical, etc. The method of drawing egg shells with hatchings accounts for the title. This depicts an image of Xmas Star, a fishing boat, with a listing of its Port Letters, Fishing Numbers, Radio Call Sign, Net Tonnage, and Gross Tonnage. With the exception of the name Xmas Star printed in red, the remainder of the image is printed in black. In this unique version, the image is printed on much heavier stock paper than the original print.
