Scope and Contents
The Wayne Patton Collection consists of documents, photo albums, and handmade objects related to his passions for fantasy and science-fiction. There are three series in this collection: Dungeons & Dragons and fantasy gaming, science-fiction pulp magazines, and materials from the Society for Creative Anachronism.
The first series encompasses rare Dungeons & Dragons figurines and magazines related to fantasy gaming, such as “The Dragon” and “Judges Guild.” Of the latter magazine, Patton collected issues as far back as the 1970s when the title was first published.
The second series, science-fiction pulp magazines, contains a range of titles including “Analog,” “Asimov’s Science Fiction,” and “The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.” He collected issues from the 1960s all the way up to the late 2010s, meaning this collection contains a significant part of the lifespan of these popular pulp magazines.
