This book is a collection of line drawings that appeared in The New Yorker, Harper's Magazine, Life, etc. It deals with false dicuments, passports, diplomas, certificates, false photographs, false etchings, false wine labels, letters, manuscripts, fingerprints, cowboys, games, rubberstamp architecture, slums, skyscrapers, cacography, etc. There are 350 drawings in this book. This revised edition has a critical analysis of Steinberg's book as an introduction. There are several newly added drawings as well as deletions, from the long out of print 1954 edition of the book, also held by the Sackner Archive.
