Scope and Contents This book consists of 26 pages of colors and various formats over a large fold-out green plate under cover grey. The word Ulceration is a heterogramme composed of the eleven most frequent letters of the French language: E, S, A, R, T, I, N, U, L, O, C. Ulceration is a poem of an anagram of the word Ulcerations.: letters are being replaced by symbols (square, circle and triangle) of different colours (blue, red and black). The five final cut rules pages are blank for the reader to write the solution to the puzzle. According to Libririe Jean-Etienne Huret in Paris, ulcerations is an indoor game on a text by Georges Perec, typographic design of Alain Roger. Saint-Pierre-la-Vieille, the catcher-Science, 1986, in-4, rel. spiral, 1 f. and 6 ff. close on grey paper, a large plate folded and 5 ff. close on green paper, 1 f. grey. Variations of the Gomringer's poem "wie weis ist wissen die weisen" have been typeset in lower case letters in rectangular blocks and interspered among illustrations of Uecker's white nail works. Internet: Bilge Friedlaender, 65, a Turkish-born artist known for combining natural materials into delicate arrangements and renderings, died of brain cancer in April 2000 in Istanbul.Mrs. Friedlaender, who lived in Germantown during the years she worked and taught in Philadelphia, had her pastel drawings, two-dimensional wall hangings, abstract sculptures, and minimalist installations exhibited at several venues in the region. They included Old City galleries, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Beaver College, Moore College of Art and Design, and the Horticultural Center and Arboretum in Fairmount Park. She had solo exhibitions in New York; Boston; Kyoto, Japan; and Istanbul. Her work also was shown as part of group exhibitions in several cities, including Washington and Munich, Germany. Mrs. Friedlaender was an assistant professor who taught at the University of Pennsylvania from 1983...
