Isou discusses Lettrisme in the final 19 pages of this book that includes 54 b&w photographs of Lettrist works of art. Page 94 depicts Lemaitre's Sculpture inimaginable" (1964), a multiple redone in 1986 in 50 copies a work which is held by the Sackner Archive. In Lemaitre's essay, he mentions that that only 200 bound copies of Les Journaux Des Dieux were delivered for distribution because there were insufficent funds to pay him - "which of course makes the saved volumes extremely valuable." Isidore Isou contributes an essay written in 1968 which includes an "Introduction au Lettrisme," "La Photographie Ciselante," "La Photographie Lettriste et Hypergraphique," "La Photographie Supertemporelle," and "L'Avenir de la Photographie." The photographs mainly depict images captured by the camera from life or collage and subsequently treated with paint, ink, and/or scratched additions to the negative or the photograph itself. Sixteen copies of the drawings were editioned, six to collaborators and nine for sale, e.g., one of the latter held by the Sackner Archive. The book was first published in 1987 without the drawings.
