Artist book
Found in 370 Collections and/or Records:
[Aperitivo Ferrero], 1989
The content of this book consists mainly of blank handmade paper pages. It appears that it was a promotional for a pharmaceutial over the counter company since the collage cover has labels for Apertivo and Balsamic Eye Ointment. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
The previous note is doubtful. "F.lli Ferrero di Riccardo" refers to vintner brothers, and "Aperitivo Ferrero" an aperitif cocktail. Written in the corner is "Barrachi & C.," which may refer to a winery of the same name in Tuscany.
Apollo Amerika, 1969
Kriwet documents events around the time of the Apollo space shot to the moon in 1969 as well as the space shot itself as an artist scrapbook. He uses newspaper and periodical clippings and also altered them in the form of decollage as integral to the text. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

The first page of the A book depicts 25, nearly identical, stick figures draw in ink in the style of A.R. Penck with collaged, round, red paper stickers for the heads. The heads have facial features drawn in ink. The verso has one red paper stick collaged onto the page. Each subsequent page has one less stick figure and one additional sticker on the verso. The final page of the book has one stick figure and 25 stickers collaged onto the verso. In Book B, red and green, round paper stickers are collaged onto most pages with ink, horizontal lines to emulate music scores. On other pages, surrealistic animal-like shapes, cut from music scores, are collaged onto the pages with music-like scores. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Block, 1994
The theme of this collage was inspired by the thwarting of a gerrymandering attempt by the Democrats in the Florida House of Representatives by the Republicans by reading a 401 page bill, consisting for the most part, of innumerating the voting blocks in the state. The latter would take 8-10 hours to accomplish. Appended to the verso is a fragment of a photocopied article from the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper, April 1992 explaining this action. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

The binding was devised by Hedi Kyle and is called a piano hinge binding. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
